REMINDER: Today is the Capital Improvement Project vote from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Central Valley Elementary, 45 Route 32, Central Valley. Exercise your right to vote!š³

M-W has been providing no cost breakfast and lunch to all in-person students at every school since November 1, and has seen an increase of 867 meals per day districtwide. We encourage all students to enjoy the no cost meals; no paperwork is required. Students can "line up, no need to sign up!"
āWe are committed to providing healthy, well balanced meals for all students attending Monroe-Woodbury at no cost to their families. Our first and most important priority is ensuring that all in-person students are well fueled and ready to maximize their learning experience each day,ā said Marilyn Prestia, M-W Food Services Director. šŖš„°š„

Q: How much would the project cost taxpayers?
A: The proposed $98 million proposal, which addresses the most critical infrastructure improvements in all seven school buildings and five non-instructional buildings, will have zero tax impact for our district residents.
The capital project would be paid for with no additional taxes due to further reductions in debt service, high levels of NYS building aid, and use of the District's capital reserve (savings for projects).
The capital project vote will take place on Dec. 5 from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. at CVE. Learn more at https://www.mw.k12.ny.us/page/capital-improvement-program-december-2023

Today commemorates the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) into law in 1975. IDEA granted access to children with special needs to free and quality public education. Happy 48th anniversary!š¤š

Staff members from the Transportation Department and the Education Center met at the Bus Garage to deliver their donations of 390 handmade blankets destined for the arms of children who are "seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.ā
Project Linus has donated more than 9 million blankets to "children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug" since 1995 and M-W has been supporting their mission for several years. We are proud of our "blanketeers" for their kindness and caring, and for the many hours spent creating this mountain of hugs!šš¤
