Ahoy! M-W is celebrating National School Lunch Week from October 14-18. This year's campaign theme, āSchool Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure,ā highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a studentās success both in and out of the classroom. School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories, and sodium in all meals. Additionally, all M-W students are eligible to eat both breakfast and lunch at school free of charge, every day! š“āā ļøš

Happy Friyay! Todayās Super High 5 goes to all of the brave firefighters who protect us every day. During this year's Fire Prevention Week, we were reminded of the importance of working smoke alarms. Firefighter Amanda Roberts of Woodbury, Interior Firefighter Firas Mkamel of Harriman Engine Company and Interior Firefighter Scott Wakefield of Lakeside Fire & Rescue demonstrated what to do in a fire and how to Stop! At the start of each school year, Orange County conducts an emergency early dismissal drill. This year the drill will take place on Friday, October 11, and students will go home 15 minutes early. Parents and guardians should be prepared for students to arrive home 15 minutes earlier than usual. Thank you!

School Taxes are due by October 1st. After October 1st, taxpayers will be charged a 2% penalty. For your convenience Monroe-Woodbury Central School District offers residents the opportunity to view and pay their school tax bills online.
