Police K9 Keen and Officer Burke at Sapphire

Sapphire students were treated to a demonstration of police dog Keen's tracking and searching skills today. Handler Michelle Burke introduced Keen, and showed how important it is for Keen to listen and do exactly what she asks him to do - even if it's jumping on a table or sliding down a slide! Before the students came outside, Officer Burke hid some objects outdoors and students watched as Keen found them, even in the bumper of the SUV. There were lots of questions plus some loud applause and cheering as the demonstration ended. Many thanks to the Monroe Police Department and to Officer Michelle Burke for sharing K9 Keen with our Sapphire students.
