No cost meals beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1

Dear Monroe-Woodbury families,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new Director of Food Services for the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District. Please join me in wishing Mr. Ansons well as he begins his well earned retirement after 30 years in this position. I look forward to connecting with you and your children in the days and months to come.

My start here in Monroe-Woodbury comes at an exceptionally exciting time. As Superintendent Rodriguez indicated in her message to families on Friday, October 27, the District will be providing no cost breakfast and lunch to all in-person students at every Monroe-Woodbury school beginning tomorrow, November 1, 2023.

With the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) designation, all children in  Monroe-Woodbury Central School District schools attending in person can receive one breakfast and one lunch per school day at no cost, eliminating out-of-pocket expenses for families and ensuring that all students receive two nutritious meals per day.

This is made possible by the designation granted to the District by the New York State Education Department’s Child Nutrition Program. The CEP is a funding option under the National School Lunch Act that allows eligible schools to provide free meals to all students.

Please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page on the district website for more information. As always, please contact the Food Services Office at (845) 460-6200, ext. 6249 or email  foodforthought@mw.k12.ny.us with any questions or concerns.

I am excited to serve the district as Food Services Director and look forward to getting to know our students and families.

Sincerely,

Lyn Prestia, SNS
Director of Food Services
