North Main play reading header

North Main 2nd Grade teacher Mrs. Landau has a unique way to improve her students' reading skills. Her class reads plays together. With so many kinds of books to choose from, why would Mrs. Landau use play scripts? Her answer is that reading a character's voice in a play teaches students to read with inflection, pacing and intonation. Most of all, it helps them pay attention to the characters in the story. For these 2nd graders, choosing a character was their favorite part. Enjoy them as they bring their stories to life. Bravo to Mrs. Landau and her class!
