Dear North Main Families,

When I started my career as an educator, I had no idea my journey would lead me to Monroe-Woodbury.  However, 40 years later, here I am saying goodbye to a lifetime of incredible memories.  June 30, 2024, will be my last day as Principal of North Main Elementary.  I will be officially retiring from education as of July 1, 2024.

As a 63-year-old educator, husband, father and friend, Iā€™ve had to make some difficult decisions over the years.  Leaving my role as Principal of North Main Elementary School in Monroe-Woodbury has been by far one of the most challenging. The connections, bonds, and friendships I have developed over the years and the lives that I have impacted, and those that have impacted me, I will cherish forever.

Monroe-Woodbury has been a second home for me. Over the years as a teacher and administrator, I have been a part of some amazing adventures.  I have seen my students mature into young adults.  I have also been incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to have those same students come back as parents and co-workers in this incredible school district.  The memories I will take with me will continually put a smile on my face.  I was given the gift to work with incredible teachers, administrators, but more importantly the best and most amazing children ever.  I hope the impact I have made on their lives will in some small way help them succeed and continue the legacy of this amazing school district.

Sincerely,

Joseph Coto
Principal
