hearts in the ice

While committed to putting on amazing performances on the stage, The North Main Drama Club also prioritizes charitable giving as part of their mission. This year, with a much anticipated production of Frozen Jr. slated for March 2024, the club has partnered with Hearts in the Ice, a platform designed to connect, educate and ignite action on climate change issues.

On November 28, North Main students held a schoolwide virtual chat with Hilde and Sunniva, founders of Hearts In The Ice, where they learned about the Arctic environment and asked questions about climate change, the northern lights and even polar bears! If you would like to watch the interaction between North Main students and Hilde and Sunniva, check out the youtube stream!

These two citizen scientists dedicate their time to helping young people understand facts and data and how powerful individual action can be. To date, they have shared their knowledge with more than 100,000 students from throughout the world.

North Main will be holding a coin drop in support of Hearts in the Ice until Friday, December 15. Please send in some coins to help Hilde and Sunniva continue their important work. The Drama Club will reopen their donations during their spring musical in March 2024. Hope to see you there!
