To show our appreciation for our drivers we have created a bulletin board with safety slogans and inspirational messages in each bus window. We have also created a fun quiz contest. Any employee can take a ticket. On each ticket I ask a bus safety related question each week. Every Friday we pick a random ticket with the correct answer to the question and that person wins a prize.
Love the Bus is about inspiring people, caring about our employees and showing appreciation for all we do to keep our students safe and ready to learn each and every day.

40 years go by in a blink of an eye...just ask Lois Ann Hayes, a retired M-W teacher who returned to the classroom this year to fill a leave position in the MS. Ms. Hayes began teaching during the 1983-84 school year and spent much of her career shaping young lives in M-W. Once a Crusader. Always a Crusader. 🤗💜⭐️ #mwlegacy #crusaderpride #mwinspiresuccess

The MWHS and MWMS libraries will welcome award-winning author A.S. King on Wednesday, February 7. Students in grades 8-12 will have the opportunity to meet with Ms. King and learn more about her journey as an author. Ms. King is the only author to win the Printz Award (the biggest award in young adult literature) twice, for The Collectors: Stories (2024) and Dig (2022). Stay tuned for a follow-up story after she visits with students!

M-W schools closed - Friday, January 19. Due to inclement weather, Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 19, 2024. YMCA Club Kid and all after school activities are canceled. Out-of-district students will not be transported today. Stay warm, M-W!

All Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, due to icy road conditions and extremely low overnight temperatures. This extra time in the morning will allow crews to treat roads and complete clean-up to ensure safe travel for our students and staff.
The start of the academic day will be as follows:
M-W High School – 9:08 a.m. start time
M-W Middle School – 10:15 a.m. start time (AM classes will begin at 9:25 a.m.)
Sapphire and Smith Clove – 10:30 a.m. start time
Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree – 11:15 a.m. start time
Students will be picked up at bus stops approximately two hours later than usual. All buses, both in and out-of-district, will operate on the specified delay schedule.
All CTE programs at BOCES will be bussed based on the Monroe-Woodbury schedule. Students will not be charged for absence from BOCES if buses are not available. BOCES delayed opening cancels morning CTE programs.
Safe travels tomorrow!

Based on the forecast for an extended period of snow, sleet and frigid temperatures tonight through tomorrow evening, which will impact the District’s ability to safely transport students, all Monroe-Woodbury schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16.
We hope this advance notice helps our families plan accordingly. Stay warm and safe, Crusaders!
