
At the February 19 Board of Education meeting, 8th grade twins Hailee and Madison Lendor were recognized for their incredible act of kindness toward a neighbor in need. The twins, with help from family, friends and neighbors, baked and sold 126 dozen cookies to raise money for a displaced family. Now that's the heart of a Crusader!

Due to forecasts calling for prolonged wintry weather conditions, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 6. The Club Kid program and all after school activities are canceled. Out-of-district students will not be transported.


The Monroe-Woodbury Music Boosters Scholarship program seeks to reward those select students in grades 4-12 who demonstrate outstanding musicianship and success in their dedication to music. These students’ confidence and passion for learning music will be apparent in Chorus, Band, Orchestra, or any combination of these ensembles. Scholarships will be presented to winners during each school’s spring concerts. Scholarships are cash awards, with the amounts to be determined depending on the number of winners.

Due to icy road conditions affecting our area, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule on Friday, January 31. Students will be picked up at bus stops two hours later than usual.
The start of the academic day will be as follows:

M-W Middle School – 10:15 a.m. start time (AM classes will begin at 9:25 a.m.
Sapphire and Smith Clove – 10:15 a.m. start time
Sapphire UPK – 10:40 a.m. start time
Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree – 11:15 a.m. start time
Club Kid A.M. will not be held. All buses, both in and out-of-district, will operate on the specified delay schedule.
All CTE programs at BOCES will be bussed based on the Monroe-Woodbury schedule. Students will not be charged for absence from BOCES if buses are not available. BOCES delayed opening cancels morning CTE programs. Safe travels, Crusaders!


Today's Happy Friyay is filled with kindness! MWMS twins Madison and Hailee Lendor have hearts of gold. After a fire destroyed their neighbor’s home, the Lendor twins jumped into action. The twins, who have a passion for baking and community service, baked more than 1,500 cookies overnight and donated all proceeds to the family affected by this tragedy. Madison and Hailee’s compassion are an inspiration to the entire M-W community!💜


Congratulations to the three MWMS students recently named to the 2024-2025 New York State Band Directors' Association Honor Band! The NYSBDA Middle and High School Honor Bands will rehearse and perform in person at the annual NYSBDA Symposium in Syracuse in March. Bravo!⭐️🎶

The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council of Orange County (ADAC) and POW’R Against Tobacco combined efforts to educate MWMS students about the dangers of smoking and vaping. During lunch periods, the organizations joined students to celebrate the Great American Smoke-out, sharing valuable information about the harmful effects of tobacco and vaping on the body. The sessions also highlighted the predatory marketing tactics used by the tobacco industry to target young people. Students actively participated and earned prizes while learning how to make healthy choices. 🚭💪


Congratulations to Quarter 1 recipients of the Purple Pride Award. MWMS students are nominated based on how they embody the school's CORE values of Citizenship, Opportunity, Respect and Empathy. The Purple Pride Award acknowledges the hard work these students put in every day to make MWMS an amazing place to learn.
