Monroe-Woodbury students excelled at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) District Competition on Thursday, February 2. Schools from the surrounding counties competed in district elimination performance events as well as written exams at the event hosted by MWHS. For the first time ever, Monroe-Woodbury also had two students compete at the middle level.
Congratulations to the following MWHS students who achieved great success at the competition:
Quyen "Nick" Lai - 1st place in Business Communications
Kyle Torres - 3rd place in Sports Management
Rohan Sonayka - 1st place in Impromptu Speaking
Jeter Sison - 1st place in Job Interview
Diya Mangatt - 1st place in Public Speaking; she serves as State VP for District 3N who presided over the meeting and sat for the state officer exam to campaign in April 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year
Visakhi Miriyapalli -1st Place Client Service; she serves as State Executive VP and also presided over the meeting
Emily Taveras - 4th Place in Business Calculations
Julia Lee - 4th place in Business Communications
Ava Cherian - 1st place in Introduction to Decision Making; she sat for the state officer exam to campaign in April 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year
Anya Malhotra - 2nd place in Introduction to Public Speaking
In addition, attendees cheered on first time middle school competitors within District 3N. Monroe-Woodbury students were stars at this level as well:
- Slade Carlin - won 1st place in Critical Thinking performance event; 1st place in Financial Literacy; and 2nd place in Leadership
Zachary Silverblatt won 1st place in Leadership
