Dear Crusaders,
This week our nation has been tragically reminded of the sacred duty that educators serve in keeping our children safe. It takes a village and we are united in our purpose. We will never let our guard down in making sure that we are doing everything that we can to protect our children. As you have discussions with your children about the horrific event that took place in Uvalde, Texas, please reinforce with them that safety is paramount to all of us here at Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. We will continue to encourage them and you to keep us informed of any concerns that may come up so that we can continue to evaluate our safety plans and practices. Anonymous Alerts has been a useful tool in helping that communication flow to our leadership team. Whenever we receive an alert, we treat it with the utmost seriousness and when warranted, we involve our local law enforcement agencies to assist us in making sure our school is safe. While we have no credible threats against our school at this time, we will continue to diligently monitor our safety protocols and make adjustments as needed. We encourage you to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Early Morning Drop Off:
We will no longer be allowing students to enter through the Blue House entrance (near the flagpole) prior to our regular arrival time (7:50 AM). Students who are dropped off for early morning activities will enter through the main entrance moving forward.
8th Grade End of Year Information:
We are looking for First Day of Kindergarten and baby pictures of our 8th graders. Please submit your photos to nguerra@mw.k12.ny.us as soon as you can. We want to make sure that all of our 8th graders are included in our End of Year Slideshow.
8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony:
Moving Up will be held on June 23rd at 9:00am in the high school gymnasium. Parents will be sent information for ticket pick up and other event details next week.
Have a great weekend!
