This week the Monroe-Woodbury community recognizes school counselors and the positive impact they have on students’ lives. This year’s theme is School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive.
Susan Alicea, MWHS School Counselor/Guidance Chairperson, says she knows her students are thriving when, “they need my help less and less! I love seeing our kids excel and in a good place.”
School counselors help students thrive by listening and helping shape decisions regarding next steps. Whether there’s a question related to their schedule, social emotional needs or plans for the future, the team of M-W counselors are here to help. Mrs. Alicea said she connects with her students by, “learning what helps students feel comfortable and reminding them to just be themselves is important.”
Thank you to our counselors for your never-ending support for our students!
