2024-25 MWMS Capabilities Week Event Schedule
Dec 2: Raising Awareness: Wear Purple, White or Black
ASL Adventures: Amplifying Access and Awareness. (Students will get "hands-on" practice with ASL with a fluent CODA (child of Deaf adults), including basic fingerspelling and vocabulary. Students will have the opportunity to practice expressive signing skills, and get a take-home fingerspelling sheet.)
Dec 3: Unleashing Potential: Celebrating Physical Diversity - Students will experience things through a different lens with activities to challenge their mind, body and communication
Dec 4th: Rohan Murphy Assembly
Dec 5: “Celebrity Mix Up!” Students will have the opportunity to see various posters of famous celebrities and play the matching game where they sort their faces with their disabilities.
Dec 6: Duct Tape your Dean
All Week: Daily announcements and advisory activities.
The week-long event is a collaboration of PTA, SEPTA, Special Ed Dept Secondary, Assistant Principals, Principals, Student Council, including Neurodiverse voices in our community.
