M-W employees recognized at MHSSC Awards

School Nurse Lisa Hodges and Cook Manager Renee Keys were among the individuals recognized by the Mid-Hudson School Study Council (MHSSC) for their remarkable contributions to education at the annual awards ceremony held on November 1, 2023.

Hodges was awarded the 2023 Award for Excellence in Pupil Personnel Service. She has served as a registered nurse at Smith Clove Elementary School for nine years.

According to Smith Clove Principal Nicole Cook, “Mrs. Hodges contributes to the culture of the building and is a strong resource and advocate for the students and families she works with.  Mrs. Hodges is a staff member who does not bring attention to herself, yet constantly works to better support the needs of the students and staff that she works alongside behind the scenes. She is truly worthy of this award.”

Keys holds the position of Cook Manager through the Food Services Department at the Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. Overseeing a team of 10 adults and preparing food for over 1600 students, Mrs. Keys possesses and implements excellent management and leadership qualities and treats all her students with kindness, understanding and dignity. Additionally, Keys takes the time to form relationships with the families and caregivers and maintains ongoing communication with them on behalf of her students.

“Renee provides an exceptional service to our school community and has demonstrated the true meaning of leadership. She goes above and beyond for her students, their families, and the Monroe-Woodbury community. She makes us proud to work alongside her and is most deserving of the prestigious Mid-Hudson School Study Council Award For Excellence in Support Staff Services,” said Christopher Berger, M-W Middle School Principal.

Congratulations on this well deserved recognition!
