For the 12th consecutive year, Monroe-Woodbury Central School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 23rd year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

“Success in music continues to be a long-standing tradition in Monroe-Woodbury. The district's students and teachers celebrate music in our schools every single day with their diligence and commitment.  As a result of their hard work, the M-W community is being recognized by the NAMM Foundation, for the 12th consecutive year, as one of the "Best Communities for Music Education" in the United States. Congratulations to the Monroe-Woodbury music program and to our wonderful, supportive community,” said Christopher Taborsky, District Music Coordinator.

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Monroe-Woodbury answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

Congratulations, Monroe-Woodbury! We are so proud of our staff and our students.
