Dear MWHS Parents and Guardians:

I hope you had a restful spring recess. As we prepare for the final months of the 2021-2022 school year, I am writing to share important information specifically related to the Class of 2023, which results in a schedule change for all high school students.

This year, for the first time, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) is requiring all high school juniors to take the new U.S. History & Government Framework Regents Exam. Monroe-Woodbury High School will be administering the exam to the entire junior class on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 7:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., as scheduled by NYSED.

As a result, only students taking the U.S. History & Government class that culminates in the Regents Exam, or those that still need the exam for graduation, will be attending school on Wednesday, June 1. There will be no classes for all other high school students (freshmen, sophomores and seniors) on that day to allow the 600+  members of the junior class to complete the exam.

Juniors taking the exam will arrive at school on their regular morning bus runs, and will be transported home after completion of the exam.  Additional information regarding the exam will be shared with students by their teachers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or the House B Office.

Sincerely,

Lori Hock
Monroe-Woodbury Interim High School Principal
