Dear MWHS Students and Families,

Today Monroe-Woodbury High School administrators were made aware of an Instagram account that has raised concern among some of our students and their families. The account asks students to make “confessions” and responses have been hurtful, distasteful and inappropriate.

These types of social media accounts, and individuals who actively engage in them, create undue stress in our schools and among our families and will not be tolerated. As is protocol, administrators immediately contacted the Woodbury Police Department, who has taken swift action to report the inappropriate account in an effort to close it.

The district is working closely with local law enforcement, as well as with Meta/Instagram Security, to identify those individuals who are managing the account, which illegally uses the school district’s logo and name. If identified as Monroe-Woodbury students, the individual(s) will face serious disciplinary action, per the district’s Student Code of Conduct.

Please speak to your children about the dangers of social media and remind them to make smart choices.

Sincerely,

Lori J. Hock
Interim Principal
