On Friday, May 17, members of the MWHS Class of 2025 attended the annual Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) panel presentation. Speakers included:

  • Mary Koll, MWHS employee, who spoke as the parent of a son who was killed as a passenger in a drunk driving accident

  • Lauren Savino, Program Educator/Orange County Emergency Services Center/ STOP-DWI/Traffic Safety

  • Officer Medina from Woodbury PD, who spoke from the law enforcement perspective 

  • Brian Strommer, who spoke as a parent of a son who died as a passenger in a car driven by a drunk driver: “A story of heartache.. choice and consequences”

Parents shared heart wrenching stories of loss and love, and reminded students that one bad decision may cost them their lives, but also forever alters the lives of their loved ones.
