Michael award recipient

Michael Martinez, Student Board of Education Representative and MWHS senior, will be recognized for outstanding leadership at the 42nd Annual Awards Ceremony hosted by the Orange County Youth Bureau on June 5, 2024.

Michael is among students from across Orange County being recognized for strong leadership, volunteerism and citizenship. This award recognizes the contributions of a youth volunteer/leader who spends his/her discretionary time helping others, works on projects that add to the betterment of the community, and demonstrates strong leadership skills.

Michael has commonly provided brief reports on student concerns at Board of Education meetings. He promotes and fosters leadership qualities among the student body by providing feedback and insights on youth-related policies. He has organized initiatives by helping to drive voter registration and engaging the community. In addition, Michael has collaborated with local leaders and hosted events emphasizing grassroots activism, assisted constituents to ensure their satisfaction, and collaborated with diverse groups to represent youth perspectives while engaging in structured debates on various topics.
