The Monroe-Woodbury High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) hosted their semiannual blood drive at the high school on Friday, March 8. They received a total of 58 pints of blood. Four students donated using the Alyx Machine, which collects two units of red blood cells instead of one. The remaining platelets and plasma get returned to the donor. Seniors who have donated through the Alyx Machine or have donated also through regular donations in September will receive a red chord for graduation.
Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who made this a successful drive. A big thank you to the health classes that hosted blood drive presentations in the classrooms. We appreciate everyone’s continued support!
