A Message from Superintendent Elsie Rodriguez to the M-W School Community
Over the past decade there are many memorable events that have shaped my time here as superintendent. Last night’s “Football Under the Lights” has risen to the top of that list. I first want to thank our amazing students, who represented the character of a Monroe-Woodbury Crusader in the best way possible last night. I am so proud of you.
Thank you also to each and every person who played a role in ensuring a safe, fun experience for all in attendance. The event would not have been possible without the support of our students, families, staff, community members, volunteers, football booster club, local and state law enforcement and EMTs. I want to especially thank the three students who initially presented the idea of an evening football
game to district leaders: Quincy, Ty and Vinny - look what you did!
The joy, camaraderie and excitement in the air last night made all the many hours of work and planning worthwhile. The smiles on your faces was the greatest reward of all.
Please know how grateful we are to be part of such a wonderful school community and we look forward to hosting athletic events under the lights next season.
Warm regards,
Elsie Rodriguez
