June 22, 2023
Dear Class of 2023 parents and guardians,
We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2023! We continue to monitor the weather forecast as preparations for the graduation ceremony continue. If the current weather forecast remains, it is possible that tomorrow’s graduation ceremony will be held indoors in the main gymnasium. Families will be notified no later than 12 noon tomorrow once a final determination has been made. We are sharing information with families today so that you have ample time to make alternate arrangements.
In case of inclement weather and the graduation ceremony is held indoors, the plan is as follows:
The ceremony will be held in the main gymnasium on Friday, June 23, at 6 p.m.
Each graduate will receive three tickets to the indoor ceremony, which are distributed to students along with their caps and gowns. Only individuals with tickets will be admitted into the gymnasium. There will be two checkpoints and families will be asked to provide their graduate’s last name. Any individual who arrives without a ticket will be directed to the auditorium to view the ceremony via livestream.
Friends and family members from all over the world may view the ceremony in real time via livestream: https://events.locallive.tv/events/111634. This link will be available on the district website and the district’s social media accounts.
All guests will enter at the front entrance of the high school.
Parking opens at 4 p.m. All parking will be routed through the main entrance of the middle school. Shuttles will be available from the middle school and Central Valley Elementary School.
Families may access the gym beginning at 4 p.m. Gymnasium seating is open.
Handicapped parking will be in the student lot in front of the high school. Those who require assistance will be directed to the elevators once they enter the high school. There will be designated seating for those individuals who have difficulty accessing bleacher seating.
A professional photographer will be present to capture your child’s special moment and will contact you directly regarding the purchase of photo packages. We ask that all attendees stay seated during the ceremony to minimize disruption to those around you. M-W backdrops will be available in the small cafeteria following the ceremony to allow families the opportunity to take photographs.
Diplomas will be distributed during the graduation ceremony.
Thank you, in advance, for your flexibility and patience. No matter the location, this event is all about celebrating our amazing students!
Best,
Elisa Soto
