Dear MWHS Parents and Guardians:

As we prepare for the final months of the school year, I am writing to share important exam information, which will require a schedule change for all high school students.

This year, for the first time, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) is requiring all high school juniors to take the new U.S. History & Government Framework Regents Exam on Thursday, June 1, 2023.  Additionally, all students enrolled in Spanish, French or Italian 3 will take their Final/Checkpoint Exam on this day as well.

The schedule for the day will be as follows:

-Thursday, June 1, 2023 - U.S. History & Government Regents Exam - 7:15 AM

-Thursday, June 1, 2023 - Spanish, French or Italian 3 Final/Checkpoint Exam - 11:30 AM

Only students taking the U.S. History & Government class that culminates in the Regents Exam, or those who still need the exam for graduation, as well as all students enrolled in Spanish, French or Italian 3 will be attending school on Thursday, June 1. There will be no classes for all other high school students on that day.

Students taking the U.S. History Exam at 7:15 AM will arrive at school on their regular morning bus runs, and will be transported home after its completion.  A second bus run will transport the students for the language exams.  The bus schedule will be shared and posted prior to the exam.  Additional information regarding the exam will be shared with students by their teachers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or the House B Office.

Sincerely,

Elisa Soto

High School Principal
