During a recent breakfast celebration hosted by Orange-Ulster BOCES, two M-W students were recognized as Senior Scholar Humanities Honorees. During the event, students from throughout the county were recognized for their work in literature, language, philosophy, visual arts, theater, dance or music.

James Dawson
James has shown exceptional artistic talent in the areas of music and theater performance. He has received numerous awards including the Monroe-Woodbury 2022 Music Boosters scholarship, has participated as an All-County Music participant on multiple occasions on voice and guitar, and has served as an All-State Chorus alternate. Mr. Dawson writes and performs in a band and will be featured in an upcoming docuseries titled, “1300 Miles to Broadway.” After high school, he plans to study music and business.
Eryn Sammut
Eryn Sammut is a very talented artist with a specialized focus on the visual arts. She won second place in the National Art Honor Society Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Orange County poster contest. Ms. Sammut has been an active member of the MWHS Art Guild and the National Art Honor Society throughout high school, in addition to supporting the MWHS Drama Club as a member of the stage crew and as a performer. She has been a generous volunteer all four years of high school, offering her time and talent to painting window displays and murals throughout the school and community. After high school, Ms. Sammut plans to attend an art college and major in illustration.
