On Friday, April 14, Monroe-Woodbury Central School District invites the school community to LIGHT UP the district with KINDNESS. Wear blue, red, yellow, or any color you choose, in support of autistic voices.
We are reminded to ACCEPT, SUPPORT AND INCLUDE BY:
- Being kind and respectful
- Thinking of autistics first when planning an event and include, not separate.
- Understanding that everyone with autism is different.
- Showing empathy, not sympathy
- When in doubt, it's okay to ask well intentioned questions.
