On Wednesday, March 22, Mr. Vero's Health and CPR classes had visitors from the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department and the Woodbury Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Students learned about volunteerism and how they could give back to their community by becoming junior members in the respective organizations.
Several members of the Fire Department and the Ambulance Corp are M-W graduates and CPR class alumni, including: Joey Roccisano (2019), Matthew Flakowitz (2020), Jonathan Stevens (2021), Tony Aliji (2023) and John Beadle (2024). They followed up their talks in the classes with a recruitment table outside of the large cafe, hoping to share a message of community service with as many students as possible.
