Elementary Summer Bridges Interest Questionnaire - Please submit by April 8, 2022.

Dear Students and Families,

I am excited to share that Monroe-Woodbury will once again be offering the Summer Bridges Program. This program is designed to provide K-5 students additional academic support and enhanced enrichment opportunities as they continue to deal with the lingering effects of the long-term COVID-19 pandemic.

Summer Bridges will run from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, from July 11 through August 4, 2022. Families will be required to provide transportation for students.

The program will be taught by certified teachers assisted by summer enrichment support staff. Each day will include a series of classes ranging from skills work in English Language Arts and Mathematics to enrichment activities in art, music and physical education.

It is important to note that we will continue to offer our traditional Summer Crusaders program for students who are eligible for and receive extended school year services. Additional information on this program will be communicated to students and families directly by their case manager. All K-5 students not participating in Summer Crusaders are once again invited to attend Summer Bridges.

Monroe-Woodbury is utilizing funds from the American Rescue Plan Grant to develop and implement this enhanced summer learning and enrichment program, which will be offered at no cost.

Our team is hard at work fine tuning the details of the Summer Bridges Program. Additional information will be available in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we are requesting that families complete an online questionnaire indicating their intent to send their child to Summer Bridges to aid in our planning efforts.

Please submit one form per child you would like to participate. Questionnaire responses will help gauge attendance at Summer Bridges as we plan for staffing and program offerings. We ask for your response by April 8, 2022. A formal registration process will take place in the upcoming months. Parents will still need to register their child even after completing the interest survey.

Sincerely,

Eric J. Hassler, Ed.D.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction
