The following message was emailed to all families on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Dear Monroe-Woodbury families,

To prepare for the possibility of inclement weather or other morning emergencies, the district will send a TEST of its Early Morning contacts on Tuesday, November 12, at 6:30 p.m. These Early Morning messages will be sent to contacts provided in the Parent Portal via email and phone call. Families will only receive texts if they have opted in to receive text messages (see instructions below). The TEST allows families to verify receipt of morning announcements regarding school closings, delays or other emergency notifications.

To “OPT IN” for SMS/Text Messages:

  • Text “Y” to number 67587 from the phone number you have registered as a contact in your Student’s Profile.

  • You will receive the following text message confirming you have registered to receive text notifications: “You’re registered 4 SchoolMessenger notifications. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”

  • Please note: Parents/guardians must “OPT IN” to receive text notifications. Otherwise, you will receive phone calls and emails only.

Carefully consider how you wish to be contacted for Early Morning messages, bearing in mind that phone calls, texts and emails for delays and closings are typically sent out between 4:30 a.m. - 5:15 a.m. Changing your Early Morning preferences will ONLY remove you from Early Morning Email/SMS/Phone calls; general messages will still be sent to all contacts you have designated in the Parent Portal.

Please review information in the Parent Portal before the TEST message is sent on Tuesday evening, November 12. If you wish to make any changes, please do so by noon on Tuesday. Follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the Parent Portal

  2. Click on SchoolMessenger

  3. Click on your Profile in the top right corner

  4. Go to Preferences

  5. Look for the MW_Robo Early Morning category. Reminder: Preferences may be changed in the Early Morning category only. General Messages are sent to all contacts.

If you need assistance, please view the SchoolMessenger Guide on how to change your preferences for Early Morning messages.

If you do not receive the TEST message on Tuesday evening, review your contact information in the Parent Portal for errors and make any necessary changes. Please reach out to your child’s building for assistance if you have questions.

Please keep in mind that all emergency-related announcements will be posted to the district website, as well as the district’s Facebook page and Instagram account, which are your best source of information.

Sincerely,

Tracy Norman, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
