Pine Tree fifth grader, Daria, was named the USA Gymnastics NY State Champion in Level 6 for age group 11 year olds at last weekend's competition in Syracuse. She earned first place medals in both the Vault and Floor events on her way to the overall Championship. This is Daria's first year competing at Level 6 after moving up from Level 4 last year and skipping Level 5 altogether. Follow your dreams, Daria! Congratulations!
Thursday, April 27 is OPERATION SAFE STOP DAY in New York State. During “Safe Stop,” police officers are on board school buses and in marked and unmarked patrol units on selected bus routes that have a history of illegal passing complaints. Some of Monroe-Woodbury Central School District’s buses will be participating in this initiative.
Police will issue tickets to drivers who pass stopped school buses (Section 1174 of the Vehicle & Traffic Law). Please do your part to keep our children safe!🚌👮🏻🛑
Representative Patrick Ryan hosts information meeting on applying to US Service Academies at SUNY Orange on April 29. Service Academies provide a top-notch education and full four-year scholarship while preparing students for leadership roles in our nation’s armed forces. As a West Point graduate, Representative Ryan can answer any questions students have about attending a Service Academy. Details are on the Guidance page of the High School website.

Audrey will be attending the United States Military Academy - West Point, where she will be majoring in Biology / Life Sciences. Joseph Tripodo, MWCSD Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness, welcomed New York State Police officers to schools this week. The Athletic Club and the Student Leadership Committee (SLC) recently sponsored a volleyball tournament to provide HS students with an opportunity for some friendly competition and social interaction. In lieu of an entry fee, all participating students were asked to bring in non-perishable food items that were donated to our community food pantry. A total of 13 teams and 74 students participated in the 2 hour event and more than 150 cans were donate to the food bank. Students had a great time and more events are in the works for the future. Kudos to students Liam Gaffney and Jules Johannemann (SLC) “getting the ball rolling” and to the Athletic Club who assisted with logistics. 🏐😁🥫

Here's to a successful inaugural esports match! M-W played Boquet Valley Central School District and won 3-0 in the school's first-ever Rocket League Match. M-W won Map 1: 9-1, Map 2: 10-0 and Map 3: 11-1.🌟 Congrats to players Jamison Detty, James McCormick and Bryan Gee! Detty scored 28 Goals, 1 assist and 2 saves; McCormick scored 2 goals, 1 assist and 1 save; and Gee scored 1 Goal and 2 assists. What a memorable start, Crusaders!
