76 teams worldwide competed at the 39th annual Odyssey of the Mind (OM) World Finals competition over the Memorial Day Weekend in Ames, Iowa. The Monroe-Woodbury Creative Crusaders placed 14th in the world! The middle school team of 7 students received impressive scores for their creativity for the Odyssey Technical Problem #2: "ReOMvention." These dynamic thinkers, coached by Odyssey veteran Joanne McInerney and newcomer Dante Calabrese, brought the Odyssey program to the Varsity level with their impressive and elegant solution. Their performance was a model of excellence in group problem solving.
As the season comes to an end, the focus of the MW Creative Crusaders is already set on next year- the hope is to return to the World Finals once again!
