UPDATE: 3 p.m. - April 9
Good afternoon M-W families,
Thank you for your continued patience as we work through the technical issues related to computer-based state testing. Unfortunately fifth grade students were unable to test today due to continued technical difficulties. Schools across New York State, including Monroe-Woodbury, have experienced disruptions this week, which have impacted our ability to conduct the assessments effectively.
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is actively working to implement a solution to ensure all students have an equitable testing experience. Consequently, the district has altered the Elementary assessment schedule as follows:
Friday, April 11: 4th grade ELA day 2
Wednesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 24: 5th grade ELA
Monday, April 28: 5th grade Science
We will not be changing the schedule of the 3rd grade testing, as those are paper based. The 3rd grade ELA assessment will remain on April 29 and April 30.
We believe every student deserves a calm and supportive testing environment where they feel comfortable doing their best. We will share the revised testing schedule once students return to school following the break.
As always, we are grateful for your understanding and continued support.
UPDATE: 1:30 p.m. - April 8
The New York State Department of Education (NYSED) has advised that today’s issues impacting state testing have been resolved.
As a result, Grade 4 testing will resume Friday, April 11. Grade 5 testing will be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9, and Thursday, April 10, 2025, as planned.
State testing for Grades 6, 7 and 8 will now take place tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9, and Thursday, April 10.
We appreciate your patience and flexibility.
This message was emailed to all Grades 4, 6, 7 and 8 families on April 8, 2025.
Due to statewide technical issues, all state tests scheduled for today, Tuesday, April 8, will not take place. The New York State Department of Education (NYSED) is conducting an investigation and will provide guidance once the issues are identified and corrected. This situation is not specific to Monroe-Woodbury as districts throughout the state have been impacted.
We will provide further information with an updated testing schedule once we receive guidance from NYSED. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
