The second grade students at Pine Tree Elementary participated in an exciting Valentine's Day project for the second year in a row. The project is called "Hearts Around America" and students reached out to their families and friends from across the United States, as well as anywhere in the world, to ask them if they could send us valentines. Students also sent valentines to 60 different schools around the country and asked if they could return the favor and send one to M-W. The goal was to receive a valentine from all 50 states. As the valentines started coming in, students displayed them in the hallway and colored in the places on the map that cards were received from.
Pine Tree second graders reached their goal and received a valentine from all 50 states, as well as from 18 other places around the world!! They were so excited to receive the mail and open all of the valentines from their families, friends and other second graders from all over the country and world!
