Welcome to the Monroe-Woodbury Parent Teacher Association

Monroe-Woodbury PTA Council is comprised of members from each of M-W’s eight PTA units, as well as having its own executive board. Members attend monthly meetings, sharing information, ideas, and concerns with each other and administration. We provide support to the local PTA units, and provide leadership training through workshops and sponsored events through our regional PTA. M-W PTA Council provides incentive and assistance for each PTA unit in district to participate in such activities as health & wellness programs, the Reflections program, the PARP program, legislation and advocacy, cultural arts, and our scholarship program for graduating seniors. PTA Council engages in community-wide projects and is a link through which local PTAs can work on projects that reach beyond their local school and into the community at large.
Please join our Facebook page, @MonroeWoodburyPTA for regular information.

Why  PTA?

Research has proven that when families, schools and communities work together there are untold benefits: student achievement improves, teacher morale rises, communication among parents, teachers and administrators increases and community connections multiply. Not only are the schools stronger, more active and more successful, the quality of life in the community improves.

How can I support PTA?

  • Join PTA

PTA membership is only $10 per school! ($6.00 to school PTA and $4.00 to NYS/National PTA).
Please support your school’s PTA by becoming a member. Children benefit greatly through parental involvement in the schools, and so does our community. You can make a difference! PTA is committed to advocating for our children and strengthening the ties between home and school, and it starts with membership in your school’s PTA and SEPTA. To learn more about membership benefits, visit www.nyspta.org.

  • Support Everyday Fundraising

Send in those Box Tops for Education or register  accounts at local stores to give rewards back to a school.

  • Participate and Volunteer

Attend monthly meetings and school events. It takes many helping hands to make PTA programs and events run smoothly and successfully. A little time from one person makes a big difference!

  • Stay Informed

With many communications going paperless, frequent visits to websites and email are becoming the predominant communication tools. Being part of the PTA helps parents stay up-to-date on what is happening in the schools and the district.

  • Communicate

We welcome  comments, questions, feedback and suggestions via telephone, email, and of course face to face at PTA meetings.

The PTA encourages and values the continued involvement and support of M-W families. Please contact the PTA at your child’s school for more information.
