On Thursday, October 26, Smith Clove students from Mrs. Whittel's and Ms. Rubino's classes participated in a tree planting ceremony around a Shareberry tree that was donated from Climate Smart Woodbury. Students participated in covering the planted tree with soil, watering it and discussing a plan to help it to nourish and grow.
Attendees at the celebration included Lisa Hintze, Natasha Wozniak and Rhonda Fabbro from Climate Smart Woodbury; Village of Woodbury Mayor Andrew Giacomazza; Village of Woodbury Trustee Susan Fries-Ciriello; and Dr. Anne Wibiralske from the Hudson Valley Pollinator Project. Other distinguished guests were in attendance as well.
