Monroe-Woodbury Middle School is committed to the MWCSD vision of inspiring success for all of our students. We are fortunate to have an amazing faculty who lend their academic expertise to our students every day. We are committed to helping our students confidently fulfill their potential.
Our priority above all things is school safety. In order to inspire our students and each other, the school community must first feel safe; this includes both physical and emotional safety. We utilize a wide array of resources in order to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment. We have a dedicated team of safety officers and a Student Resource Officer in our building every day, as well as a vigilant staff who understand the safety needs of our school. We also have a tremendous team of student support staff in our guidance office who work to proactively help students during the stressful times that can come with adolescence.
The middle school utilizes a house system to create smaller learning communities within our building. The four houses are aligned to our CORE values: Citizenship, Opportunity, Respect and Empathy. Being a member of a house means that students have an area of the building that is considered their home and their core classes are located in a house hallway where they are surrounded by familiar faces. This builds a smaller network within our school which is a critical aspect of our support system. Within the house, every student will have the same Advisory, advisor, and guidance counselor throughout their three years at MWMS. Additional supports include a grade level school psychologist and assistant principal.
