The Monroe-Woodbury Athletic Director, Lori Hock, would like to announce that Willow Duffell is the “Athlete of the Week” for the week ending September 30, 2016 for the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Soccer team coached by William Mpasiakos.
Willow, a 3 year varsity player, is a co-captain and central defender. Her presence on the team has led the girls’ team to post three shut outs last week against Pine Bush 7-0, Kingston 3-0, and Arlington High School 2-0. Willow’s dedication, experience, and hard work are evident through her exceptional play. She is an anchor on the team’s defense that constantly steps up and contributes to shutting down their opponents in the defensive third. She is also a supporting teammate who encourages others to play their very best and to play hard until the final whistle. Her passion and commitment to the team will continue to contribute enormously to the team’s overall success. Willow Duffell is this week’s Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Girls’ Soccer athlete of the week.
Congratulations Willow !
