As Presidential debates get underway, Monroe-Woodbury Middle School students have been participating in a mock election to determine which candidate is the students’ choice for President of the United States. Social studies teachers prepared students for the exercise on Constitution Day, when classroom discussions centered around the electoral process.
Students are choosing one from a list of four Presidential candidates: Hillary Clinton (Democratic Party), Donald Trump (Republican Party), Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party) and Jill Stein (Green Party). Students are also voting on a proposition related to school clubs. They are asked to make as many choices as they wish from wide range of options, including Anime Club, Hip Hop Dance Club and Robotics Club, or they may write in their own ideas.
We will report back when the results are in!
