Congratulations to the students who were selected for OCMEA All-County Events this Spring:

Elementary All-County: 107 students

Junior High All-County: 84 students


Congratulations to the High School Jazz Ensemble.  For the second year in a row the Monroe-Woodbury High School Jazz Ensemble was awarded FIRST PRIZE at the Sleepy Hollow Jazz Festival.  Congratulation to Mr. Petrocelli and all the students involved.

Congratulations to the participants in the Music in Central Valley Performance Series.
  On Sunday, January 22, 2012 the following Young Artists of Monroe-Woodbury High School performed at the Central Valley United Methodist Church.  They featured music for voice, strings, and winds by Handel, Wieniawski, Doppler, Mouquet, Brahms, and Vaughan Williams.

The Pine Tree 5th Grade Band, Middle School Symphonic Band, and High School Wind Ensemble will be "Playing with the Pros" on Saturday December 10th.  The Greater New York Wind Symphony has invited these ensembles to perform with them at 3:00 on the MWHS Stage.  More information can be found at OCMEA website or Hudson Valley Performing Arts Foundation website


Congratulations to Mrs. Hotto and family on the birth of their daughter December 6, 2011.  We welcome Ms. Curtis who will be teaching Mrs. Hotto's classes while she spends time with her new addition.

The following were involved in the Greater New York Wind Symphony and Honors Chorus Concert held at Monroe-Woodbury High School on October 30.  The event was a huge success and huge congratulations to all that were involved.  The next concert is December 10th ans it their annual "Play with the Pros Concert."  The Pine Tree Fifth Grade Band, MW Middle School Symphonic Band and the MW High School Wind Ensemble have been invited to perform with the Wind Symphony.
