Gail O’Mara - Department Coordinator- Gail has taught at Monroe-Woodbury for 25 years. She is currently teaching FACS classes at the Middle School and the High School. She developed and is currently teaching the Early Childhood Education I and II classes and directing the Little Miracles preschool. Ms. O’Mara graduated with a BS in Home Economics Education from SUNY at Oneonta and with a MS degree in Human Development from Fairleigh Dickenson University.
Fran Callan is a 7th grade Home and Careers teacher at the middle school. Mrs.Callan graduated from College Misericordia in Dallas, Pennsylvania with a BS Degree in Home Economics Education in 1977. She received her MS in Professional Studies- Humanistic Education in 1994. Mrs. Callan is actively involved in the New York State Family and Consumer Science organization. She is the Sewing Club advisor. Mrs. Callan received a grant Fit Kids from the Orange County Department of Health. The grant was used throughout the middle school to promote healthy choices.
Grace Gerard She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics Education and is certified in New York and New Jersey. Mrs. Gerard also holds a Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling. Mrs. Gerard taught Family and Consumer Science at the high school level before coming to Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. Mrs. Gerard currently teaches FACS classes both at the middle and high school levels. Mrs. Gerard is the facilitator for Helping Hands, a middle school club that participates in the breast cancer walk, holds charity bake sales, runs clothing drives, as well as visiting shelters/ senior homes within the community.
Eileen McNamarateaches eighth grade Home and Career Skills at the middle school. Mrs. McNamara has her own web-page and is responsible for the implementation of the career exploration program. Mrs. McNamara attended the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY where she received her Bachelors Degree in Economics and Business. She earned her Masters Degree in Special Education from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY. She is certified in Family and Consumer Science, Business Education and Special Education. She also enjoys working with the students as the faculty advisor for the middle school Student Council. She is also a member of the New York State Family and Consumer Science organization.
Beth Rickliis currently teaching seventh and eighth grade Home and Careers at the middle school. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Oneonta with a major of Fashion Merchandising and Design. Her Master’s Degree is from CCNY in the field of Environmental Science Education. Mrs. Rickli is a facilitator for the yellow house Safe School Ambassador program. She also designs the costumes for the middle school plays. She is also a member of the New York State Family and Consumer Science organization.
