The Frank Moscati Creative Spirit Scholarship

An Odyssey of the Mind Tribute

This scholarship, in memory of Frank Moscati, is designed to honor the spirit in which Monroe-Woodbury creative problem-solving teams were encouraged to compete. 

Mr. Moscati’s vision of the program was one where academically and creatively talented students could learn the life skills afforded to athletic teams. As our greatest cheerleader, he always loved winning, but only if the path to excellence was paved with honest hard work and a spirit of competition that sought the team’s personal best. His high ethical standards and the knowledge that every administrative decision needed to be made with an eye on what the students would learn from the decision guided our Monroe-Woodbury program to the level of respect it has acquired.

The recipient will be someone who embodies the spirit of Odyssey, as determined by a committee of Odyssey coaches, as well as the participation of various Monroe-Woodbury teachers and administrators. The chosen nominee(s) will be presented with the scholarship during the Activities Award Assembly, held at the High School each spring.
