Sapphire students complete reading challenge.

106 Sapphire students read a total of 987 books over Spring Break!

Over Spring Break, Sapphire students were invited to participate in the first annual Spring Break Book Challenge. Mrs. Karen Brock, Principal, and Mrs. Christine Hiller, Library Media Specialist, organized the event to encourage the students to read over spring break.

Students in kindergarten were challenged to read five books each, while the first graders needed to read eight. After the students and their parents recorded the results, the students returned their reading logs to the main office. All students received a certificate.

The top three readers were: Joshua Morea, 105 books; Jackson Wernli, 50 books; and Ethan Gordan, 24 books. In total, 106 Sapphire students read 987 books. Congratulations to all of the readers!
