Central Valley students learn about becoming a doctor

on June 20, 2016

Thanks to Dr. Jennifer Reich of Middletown Medical, the students in Mrs. Morrison’s fourth grade class learned a lot on Thursday, June 16!  Dr. Reich is an internal medicine specialist who spoke to the class about the many kinds of doctors and specialists who work in the medical field. She also talked about the years of education needed to become a doctor.  Not only did she show the class a wonderful PowerPoint presentation, she also brought along tools like a stethoscope and shared a detailed flip chart of the human body.  Most exciting were recordings of heartbeats and breathing sounds for students to listen to.  They learned to tell the difference between healthy and unhealthy sounds.  The presentation was so interesting that students had many great questions.  Thanks to Dr. Reich for sharing her time and expertise!
