Building Leadership Committee

The Building Leadership Committee (BLC) is a committee made up of parents, teachers, students and administrators. The BLC contributes to the building-level decision making process at Monroe-Woodbury High School. It is also a sub-committee of the District Leadership Council.

Meetings - All BLC meetings are Thursdays @ 2:30 pm in Room 130

Need 3 positions filled to have a HS PTA:  President, Treasurer and Recording Secretary.

HS PTA Nominating Committee

The Committee must be formed BY MARCH 10th (60 days before the May 10th vote)
  • Need 3 people on committee:  2 from General membership and 1 from present Board excluding President.
  • Chairperson will be voted by committee. 
  • Process is Confidential.
  • Slate will be announced 10 days before May 10th meeting:  April 29th.
  • If running from floor, need intent in writing 2 business days before vote by: May 6

Our Mission and Our Goals:

Monroe-Woodbury High School PTSA is proud to be an active part of our National PTA, the oldest and largest volunteer organization in the United States that works exclusively on behalf of our youth. In striving to fulfill the mission of the PTSA we:

  • Support and speak on behalf of youth.
  • Encourage parent and public involvement with the issues facing our youth today, both in and out of school.
  • Work to strengthen the relationship between home and school so that parents and teachers may collaboratively educate our youth.
  • Develop between educators and the general public unified efforts that will secure for all our youth, the highest advantages in public education.

Our goals for the school year are to:

  • Increase student involvement
  • Strengthen parent and teacher participation
  • Provide information on current topics through parent education programs
  • Build a sense of community within our school

Each year PTSA proudly serves students and families by offering the following activities and programs:
Parent Education topics at PTA meetings
PTA sponsored student assembly
Scholarships for graduating seniors (family or student must be a HS PTA member to be eligible)

PTA Mini Grants
Art Purchase Award
Red Ribbon Week
