Monroe-Woodbury Cheer sponsored its 16th Annual Winter Classic at Monroe-Woodbury High School on February 4. More than 50 cheer teams competed in this year’s competition.
The Winter Classic was founded in 2002 by M-W parent Paula Catalina, who spent many hours on the sidelines proudly watching her daughters cheer for Monroe-Woodbury High School. Paula served as a board member of the M-W Parents Football and Cheerleading Club for four years; two of them as the President. Many M-W long time coaches have had the pleasure of working with Paula as she was an inspiration and friend to so many. Every year, the Winter Classic is dedicated in loving memory of Paula. It is a tribute to her love and support for the cheerleading program and the children of our community.
The Paula T. Catalina Foundation provides scholarships to deserving students as well as helps to grant wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
This competition truly shines with #crusaderpride!
