The crayons from Drew Daywalt’s books “The Day the Crayons Quit” and “The Day the Crayons Came Home” were locked in a fierce campaign to see who would be elected as the favorite color. In preparation for this important election, our students read these books with their teachers, considered which crayon should win and why, and then came to the mezzanine to cast their votes at voting booths.
Cries of “I did it…I voted!” reverberated through the halls and the kids were proud to wear their “I voted in the Crayon Election” stickers.
P.S. The yellow crayon was named Crayon-in-Chief!
