Monroe-Woodbury School District retains the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment or lack of instructors.
NO refunds will be issued after the start of the third day of classes or if dismissed from classes.

Earth Science Lab Practical is scheduled for August 9.
Students who are taking the Earth Science Regents exam and not enrolled in the Summer School Earth Science class are responsible for arranging their Lab Practical time slot by contacting the Summer School Office.

Class Late Registration:
Students who do not register on Wednesday, June 29 or Thursday, June 30 may register, on a space available basis, at the Summer School Office on July 5 from 8:00 AM- 11:00AM. Non-Residents will be charged a late fee of $10.00 per student.
The registration office will be closed July 1 – July 4. If you have a special circumstance please contact the Summer School office.
NYS Regents/RCT Registration: Students must register by Thursday, July 7.
BUILDING ACCESS FOR SUMMER SCHOOL STUDENTS:
- 7:20 AM – 1:45 PM
- Students should enter and exit using the main entrance to the building.
- Students found in the building without permission are subject to disciplinary actions.
The following attendance policies and rules apply to all students enrolled in the Summer School Program:
- Students are expected to be in the classroom when the period begins.
- Any tardiness in excess of fifteen (15) minutes will be considered as one (1) absence.
- Two (2) tardies of less than 15 minutes will be counted as one (1) absence.
- Students who have more than two (2) legal absences from a class will be dropped from that class and will not be entitled to a refund or a grade. Parents will be notified.
- A note from a parent/guardian is required for each tardiness or absence.
- Every effort will be made to notify parent/guardian after each absence or tardiness.
- The home school will be notified of dismissals, if possible.
- Any illegal absence (even one) will be grounds for immediate dismissal from that class.
- Students with classes periods 1 & 3 must report to the high school large cafeteria period 2.
NOTE: Lunch is not provided during Summer School.
LOST AND FOUND:
- Items that are found on the Summer School premises should be brought to the Summer School Office.
- The school assumes no responsibility for items lost, misplaced, or stolen.
- Transportation to and from Summer School is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or student.
- Lack of transportation is not considered a legal excuse for absence or tardiness.
- Students with special parking needs due to a disability should see the Summer School principal for permission to park in the appropriate designated area.
- Monroe-Woodbury Central School District assumes no responsibility for damages or theft of vehicles parked or moving.
- Failure to obey/follow parking regulations will result in the revocation of the parking privilege and possible removal from Summer School.
SAFETY AND SECURITY:
Students interfering with the safety or security of the building and its occupants will be subject to disciplinary action. Serious violation, such as the use of drugs, alcoholic beverages, violence, etc. will result in immediate dismissal from Summer School and referral to local police agencies for appropriate action.
- All accidents MUST be reported to the Summer School Principal.
- Emergency situations will be referred to the local hospital, if necessary.
- Parent/Guardian will be notified of all emergency situations.
- Parent/Guardian must notify the Summer School Principal of student’s health problems at registration.
The material covered in all remedial courses is based upon NYS syllabi. Upon completion of courses, students may submit that course to their local school district and request that credit be granted. The home school will apply its policy in awarding credit.
- Participation Grade is an important component of the final grade. Lateness, absences, and daily participation will be included in determining the final grade.
- Final reports, including class average for the six- week session, the final examination grade and Regents grades will be e-mailed (district) or mailed (out of district) to student’s/parent’s and home school. The home school will apply its policy when calculating final averages and transferring grades to permanent records. Please do not call the Summer School office for this information.
- All students must take the Summer School Final Exams on Tuesday, August 16.
- Review books will be required to be purchased in some courses.
- Most other textbooks will be loaned to students by the School District.
- Students will be responsible to pay a STANDARD $75.00 fee for EACH book that is lost, or damaged, or cannot be reused.
- Failure to return a textbook in the same condition as it was issued or failure to pay the standard $75.00 loss fee will result in the denial of a final
grade(s). The home school will be notified of such action.
STUDENT CONDUCT AND DRESS REGULATIONS:
The following actions will result in ONE or MORE of the consequences outlined below, or other appropriate disciplinary action:
- Possession, consumption, selling, distribution or exchanging alcoholic beverages or illegal substances.
- Being under the influence (Alcohol or Illegal substances).
- Possession of firearms or weapons on school property.
- SMOKING ON SCHOOL PROPERTY
- Conduct that threatens or endangers the health or safety of others/ harassment
- Cheating or plagiarizing
- Forging, altering or misusing documents
- Stealing or defacing school property
- Use of school premises without permission
- Wearing clothing that endangers the safety of others or interferes with instruction
- Any behavior that is disruptive to the instructional process
- Parking in unauthorized areas
Consequences, which may be imposed on students include, but are NOT limited to the following:
- Removal from class
- Suspension for a specific period of time during which a parent conference will be held.
- Dismissal – every effort will be made to consult with the student and his/her parent/guardian prior to dismissal.
- Referral to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
All other infractions will be dealt with at the discretion of the Summer School principal
Electronic devices are valuable and sometimes necessary tools. Such devices include: cellular/camera/video phones, CD recorders and players and others. It is strongly recommended that students keep their electronic devices at home and not bring them to school. However, if students decide to carry an electronic device, the device should be turned OFF and kept out of sight throughout the school day. Students who possess electronic devices shall assume responsibility for their care. At no time shall Monroe-Woodbury Summer School be responsible for preventing theft, loss, or damage to communication devices brought onto school property.
The use of electronic devices by some students during class time has led to inappropriate communication during assessments which resulted in very serious academic penalties. Therefore, the use of such devices may be considered cheating, and a grade of zero may be issued for that day’s class activity (such as class work, quiz, or examination). Consequences for continued offenses may result in detention(s) or suspension(s). Students who use an electronic device or wear headphones while in the testing room (Regents, RCT, Proficiency, etc.) will have their test invalidated, no score will be calculated, and may lose their right to take any subsequent state exams.
